Oktay Akkus analyzes the economic impact of price-fixing, monopolization, and other anticompetitive behavior in industries as diverse as consumer electronics and transportation. His experience includes building predictive models, conducting simulations, and performing cost-benefit analyses.
Dr. Akkus has assessed the economic impact of new products in the pharmaceutical industry, supported the examination of a proposed acquisition in professional sports for compliance with antitrust law, and helped devise and improve a model for predicting asbestos claims. He has written and presented research on industrial organization, pricing of initial public offerings, and the determinants of bank mergers.
Dr. Akkus holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from Marmara University in Turkey.
